Work on the Outdoor Classroom began in the fall of 2008.  Trees were planted by volunteers and students in order to help establish a nature trail. Work on the butterfly garden began on February 20, 2009.  The existing garden was cleaned and modified.  Over the next several weeks, a variety of plants were placed in the garden.  Five raised beds were constructed in April.  Earth Day activities provided students with the opportunity to plant vegetables and fruits in the raised beds.  In October 2009, volunteers and students dedicated their time to install a water garden.  The Ana A. Smith walking trail was paved in 2015.  Plans are bing made to include a learning shelter in the near future.
