I am originally from Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  I graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in International Business and a minor in Spanish.  I earned my Master's degree and AA certification in Spanish Education from UAB.  Later, I earned my English certification making me highly qualified to teach both English and Spanish.

I began my teaching career at Selma High School in 1987. The next year I split my teaching duties between Billingsley School and Marbury School.  In 1997 I began teaching all day at BHS.  Due to a shortage of foreign language teachers, I received training to teach online and VCI (video conferencing) classes through ACCESS and have students throughout the state of Alabama.  I currently teach Spanish I and II, 9th grade English and sponsor the Byala Staff.

I have four wonderful children and two grandchildren.  The oldest is a Special Education Teacher at Holtville Middle School.  My son is a senior at Auburn University majoring in Biomedical Sciences.  My twin daughters are also in college.  One is attending AUM majoring in nursing and the other is attending Trenholm in the x-ray tech program and will graduate this spring. At Billingsley, I love to help students become independent learners and avid readers.  I am passionate about teaching and introducing the Spanish language and Hispanic culture to juniors and seniors.  I love teaching at Billingsley School!
