Secondary English and History--Auburn University at Montgomery 1992

I am certified as highly qualified to teach history and English for grades 7-12.

I began my teaching career in August 1992 at Jemison High School in Chilton County. In August of 1994, I moved to Autauga County and began working at Billingsley School. I absolutely love it here! Over the years I have taught every grade, 7-12, in both English and history. I have been the History Department chairperson since 1999.

I have been teaching since 1992, and came to Billingsley in 1994. I have three children who have all benefited from the educational opportunities and family atmosphere of BHS. My daughter, Carlyn Maners, is married and has 2 boys.  My oldest son Joseph graduated from Birmingham Southern in 2012 and is employed as an environmental scientist. Peyton, my youngest son, is also a Billingsley graduate and is currently attending AUM.  I also have two step-daughters (Karen Gentry and Kristi McGowin) who have a total of three boys, bringing my "grandchild blessing" count to five!
